JEFFREY N. LEWIS
Jeff started playing the cornet at the age of seven. When he was nine he changed to euphonium after a vacancy was left in the Tredegar Junior Band by the departure of a young chap called Nicholas Childs! Whilst still living in Wales, Jeff played for Blaina, Celynen Colliery, Crosskeys and his home band, Tredegar.
When he was aged 19, he moved "up north" to study at Salford University for 1 year, and over the past 10 years has played for Marple (including when they won the open in 1996 on Severn Suite), DUT Yorkshire Imperial Rothwell (Leeds), Leyland and Besses o' th' Barn Bands. He is currently the solo euphonium player with Glossop Old Band and is also the euphonium soloist with the renowned ensemble Versatile Brass.
Jeff has recently completed a BA (Hons) degree in Band Musicianship at Accrington & Rossendale College.
