DAVE TIMMINS

Dave was born in Oldham in 1955. He commenced his Brass Band “education” in 1967 under the Peripatetic tutelage of Ron Ibbotson.

He played for his local School Band for 2 years before he, in addition, became a member of the Oldham Music Centre Band. He has spent most of his Banding career playing Cornet for local Bands in the Saddleworth and Greater Manchester area. He also had a brief “sojourn" into the RAF (on Bb Tuba!). He has also found time to have spells with Yorkshire Imperial Metals and Wingates Bands as well as the now both defunct Kennedy’s Swinton Concert and CWS Manchester Bands.

At present, Dave is playing Cornet with the Leyland Band and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for allowing him to use rehearsal time to try out all of his new pieces prior to publication.

Married with 2 boys, Dave still lives in Oldham and is a Manager for British Telecommunications plc.
